THE SITE
The website offers advice and guidance to teacher trainers through
a twelve specific units. The first four units focus on general
issues to do with designing a programme of initial teacher education,
exploring issues of progression in history trainees’ learning,
and ways of working effectively with school-based colleagues. The
next seven units focus specifically on important aspects of history
teaching about which trainees need to learn. The final unit is
concerned with research, and is intended both to help you to make
critical and appropriate use of various kinds of research and to
support your own development as an educational researcher.
THE UNITS
The units are divided into a number of sections. These sections do
not necessarily need to be read in sequence and the headings within
each unit may guide you to the most appropriate topic for your
needs. Highlighted text within a unit is a link to another website,
unit or bibliography. To the right of each unit are key questions
or activities. These are links to an activity that follows up the
text in more depth. There are resources to support the activities
that can be found on each page or within the activity.
SEARCHING
If you're looking for a particular Unit, Activity or Resource, then
